Fall Tai Chi for Arthritis Fall Prevention - In-Person

Registration is closed for this event
This gentle Sun Style form of Tai Chi, approved by the U.S. CDC, has been shown to reduce falls by as much as 70% if practiced routinely. An ancient Chinese practice that combines slow, smooth, and graceful movements. Tai Chi helps to increase strength, balance, and posture. Tai Chi also helps to reduce stress! The warmup exercises are performed for 10 min, followed by a demonstration and then practice of basic six movements of Tai Chi for Arthritis. Workshop materials for Tai Chi for Arthritis program (handouts) will be sent electronically to participants per NYS DOH Fall Prevention Program guidelines. Participants will view both class leader and Tai Chi for Arthritis DVD's creator Dr. Paul Lam demonstrate the warmups and the basic movements.
